In a move designed to crush political opposition, an Egyptian court handed down a mass death sentence – Egypt’s sixth since January – to supporters of deposed president Mohamed Morsi.

Seven executions have already been carried out. Hundreds more are currently scheduled. The purge is accelerating.

Raise your voice now to help Amnesty International stop this unfolding human rights disaster.

Dear Tracy,

Egypt just ordered its SIXTH mass death sentence - 183 men.

Since January, hundreds of people have been sentenced to death. Most are alleged to be supporters of former President Mohamed Morsi. The sentences come hot on the heels of seven executions last week, the first in Egypt since 2001.

The purge of political opposition is out of control, and accelerating.

Please act now to stop politically motivated mass executions in Egypt.

These trials are a travesty of justice. None of the defendants were allowed to attend the hearing, and many were tried in absentia. One man was even sentenced to both the death penalty and 15 years in prison.

There's no end in sight to this terrifying purge of political opposition. Join Amnesty International and step up the pressure on Egyptian authorities before it's too late.

Urge Egyptian authorities to stop the mass executions and retry the defendants.

The mass death sentences contrast with the impunity enjoyed by police and security officers for mass human rights abuses against protesters during the period following Mohamed Morsi's ouster. While thousands of family members agonize over these outrageous death sentences, not one police officer has been found guilty of committing abuses since the ousting of former President Morsi.

The Egyptian judiciary has lost any semblance of impartiality or credibility. The system is broken, and hundreds of lives are on the line.

Demand a halt to mass executions in Egypt.

Please act now. Executions are expected to resume within days, and international pressure from human rights activists like you can save lives.

In solidarity,
