Dear Tracy,

Whenever she heard music play, the electric shocks would start.

Right before dawn on August 7, 2012, Claudia Medina, a young Mexican woman, was kidnapped from her home.

A group of Mexican marines - some in uniform - broke into her house and forced her into their truck. They took her to an isolated room in a naval base and put electric nodes on each of her toes.

That's when the music began. She quickly learned that music meant excruciating pain.

Claudia's abusers have not been brought to justice. Will you help? Make a donation and you will support Amnesty's efforts to defend human rights, including bringing global attention to Mexico's use of torture and supporting the team working on Claudia's case.

I can't imagine how alone and frightened Claudia felt, trapped in that room, searching for any sign of mercy. She found only more brutality as another captor raped her.

The marines accused her of being a member of a criminal gang. After what seemed like countless hours of rape and other torture, Claudia signed a false confession. She had simply lost the will to refute the wrongful accusation.

Despite most of the charges against her being dropped, her abusers have not been brought to justice.

Whenever she sees a truck with marines, she feels utter terror. She says, "I want Amnesty with me because I want justice."

Please help us get justice for Claudia. Make a donation to support our work.

Thank you for your commitment to human rights.

Sincerely,
