Today we celebrate Human Rights Day - and we take action!

Three quick actions you can take TODAY

Today is International Human Rights Day! And the world's biggest human rights event is underway

 JOIN IN!

From Australia to Nigeria caring people like you are taking action today on behalf of individuals suffering from injustice or human rights violations. We've selected 10 priority actions and activists at 250 events across Canada are busy writing!

International Human Rights Day is the anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, on December 10th, 1948. This year is a special anniversary: 30 years ago today the world adopted the UN Convention against Torture.

So today we celebrate our human rights -- and we take action!

You can bring hope for people unjustly detained right now by signing our online petitions, tweeting, spreading the word, and writing a letter.

2. Write a letter

Drop a "thinking of you" note to Jerrymere Corre, imprisoned and tortured in the Philippines for what appears like a case of mistaken identity

Send a holiday card to Canada's Prime Minister, urging Canada to welcome people fleeing the worst refugee crisis in a generation

3. Share your support! Join our activists and celebrity supporters

Hold a sign with a messages like:

"Speak out for human rights"
